In May 2026, Anna Dumitriu presents BioArt Transformations at The Regency Town House, as part of Brighton Fringe (5–17 May, free public exhibition).
Described as a presentation of sculptural, installation and textile works, the exhibition traces conceptual threads from the history of science and medicine to contemporary research in synthetic biology, genomics and artificial intelligence. Dumitriu’s long-standing practice engages directly with biological processes and laboratory methodologies, situating biotechnology not merely as subject matter, but as medium.

At a moment when gene editing, microbiome research and AI-assisted biology are reshaping biomedical innovation, BioArt Transformations offers a parallel cultural lens. Rather than translating science into simplified narratives, it places emerging life sciences within a civic and historical frame – inviting reflection on how technological change enters collective memory, public ethics and shared imagination.
