Lambda Biologics will be exhibiting at the 36th IFSCC Congress, the world’s leading scientific meeting for cosmetic science, held under the theme Solve the Sustainable Beauty Equation. We will present our hair follicle-bearing human skin organoid platform for hair loss, hair greying, skin aging, and 100% animal-free efficacy and safety testing. Join us to explore human-relevant models built for the next generation of cosmetic and dermatological claims.

Complete human skin, reconstructed in vitro
Cosmetic efficacy claims are only as strong as the model behind them. Reconstructed epidermis and 2D keratinocyte or melanocyte cultures capture single endpoints, but they cannot reproduce the structures that hair and aging science actually depend on: a stratified epidermis, a dermal compartment, and functional hair follicles with resident melanocytes in the same tissue.
Lambda Biologics’ Skin & Hair Organoid replicates the complete human skin structure, enabling:
- Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) modeling in a follicle-bearing human tissue
- Stress-induced aging and hair greying studies in a single integrated model
- Quantitative readouts of collagen degradation and melanin loss
- Hair growth compound screening with direct follicle-level endpoints
- Aging and fibrosis assessment with high clinical accuracy
- 100% animal-free efficacy and toxicity testing
What We Are Showcasing at IFSCC 2026
Hair Loss (AGA) Model
Our androgenetic alopecia model reproduces the complete architecture of human skin, including hair follicles, so that androgen-driven follicle miniaturization can be studied in the tissue context where it occurs rather than in isolated dermal papilla cells.
Stress-Induced Aging and Hair Greying Model
Chronic stress signaling drives two visible hallmarks of aging at once. Our stress-induced hair greying model evaluates collagen degradation in the dermal compartment while simulating melanin loss in the follicle, allowing anti-aging and anti-greying actives to be assessed side by side in the same tissue.
Toxicity and Safety Screening – 100% Animal-Free
All efficacy and toxicity readouts run on human-derived organoids, with no animal testing at any step. This aligns with global regulatory restrictions on animal testing for cosmetics and with the wider shift toward New Approach Methodologies (NAMs).
Aging and Fibrosis – A Translational Bridge
Our aging and fibrosis models are designed for high clinical accuracy, closing the gap between in vitro research and clinical trials so that formulation and ingredient decisions are made on data that carries forward.
From Basics to Innovation: Lambda’s Cosmetic Testing Tiers
Lambda Biologics supports animal-free cosmetic efficacy testing across three model tiers, so each study runs on the level of complexity it actually requires:
Artificial Skin | Melanocytes | Skin & Hair Organoid
