Utilizing artificially cultured skin models that closely mimic human skin, various skin evaluation tests are conducted, following OECD guidelines.
These models offer an ethical and controlled environment to assess the efficacy, safety, and other properties of skincare or cosmetic products without the need for human or animal experiments.
A human skin model, calledreconstructed human epidermis, is utilized to mimic the biochemical andphysiological characteristics of the human skin surface (epidermis)
Predict the possibility of irritation induced by chemicals by measuring damage to epithelial cells that appear as test substances penetrate the cell layer of the human skin model.
