Anti-aging

The Anti-Aging Efficacy Test is a comprehensive evaluation process conducted to assess the effectiveness of skincare products in addressing signs of aging.
This testing involves various steps to measure the product’s impact on reducing wrinkles, fine lines, and other age-related skin concerns.

Anti-aging assay

Assess the capacity to inhibit the expression of MMP1, which is involved in the degradation of collagen, a structural protein of the skin.
Assess the ability to stimulate the expression of type-1 procollagen, a precursor of collagen.

Assay process

  • Step 1_1: After culturing the cell line, it undergoes a stabilization process.
  • Step 1_2: Identify the concentration range for sample toxicity and establish the test concentration.
  • Step 2_1: Culturing keratinocytes or fibroblasts expressing MMP1, a protein that regulates skin elasticity by breaking down collagen.
  • Step 2_2: Stabilize the cells by culturing them in a 24-well plate for approximately 1 day.
  • Step 2_3: After confirming the status of stabilized cells, treat them with TNF-α alone or simultaneously with the sample.
  • Step 2_4: The anti-aging ability was assessed by comparing the amount of MMP1 production in the experimental group treated with TNF-α alone and the experimental group treated simultaneously with the sample.
